November swings
Nov. 12th, 2011 03:56 pmMy body has been doing battle with the first ick of the season. The last two weeks have been heavily punctuated with sneeze and sniff. I'm worn out from unsettled sleep and admit to be pulled by the undertow a number of times. But I have kept going, bleary or not, I've got things that need doing. The oddest thing is that there is no one to call in sick to if I can't manage to shoulder the weight. If I don't do it - it won't get done.
Little sparrow birds have shown up in fluttery swarms. I am lulled by watching them come and go. The chickadees have figured out how to hang, feathered aerialist acrobats, on the suet cage. They mesmerize me. Jays knock about the tan oaks and a pair of ravens chuckled up in the big Doug Fir. I'm laughing along with them. Rain has been coming and going and the fog holds us close.
