driving the twisties
Sep. 13th, 2011 12:36 pmMy aging but still functional GPS unit has an odd glitch. If forced to recalculate more than a few times in a row, it just gives up. We have some bizarrely curvy roads up here in the Hills, the likes of which flat land maps don't even consider, so if I make the mistake of not turning the GPS off up here it displays this behavior regularly. When it happens, it sounds something like this; "turn left on Madrone on 300 feet...recalculating...turn right on Laurel, then turn left...recalculating...turn left on Madrone...recalculating...go to highlighted route", and that is where it gives up.
My life has made so many twists and turns that I think the road forward is rather like this - uncharted by normal means. There is no set route that will get me to where I am going. I'm winging it.
